The heater adapter allows one to plug the current replacement heater into the control box. The original heater receptacles (standard household for 115 volt spas or nema for 230 volt spas) will not accept the current plug configuration (square) used on replacement heaters.
To use a heater adapter, plug the standard or nema end into the control box, then plug the replacement heater into the heater adapter.
